Cardiac Rehabilitation & Wellness Program

Wyoming Medical Center's Cardiac Rehabilitation and Heart Failure programs are comprehensive and patient driven. Your care is individualized based on your diagnosis, medications, current physical status, and your physician's recommendations. Our staff guides you through up to 36 visits of monitored physical activity.

Eligible Diagnosis
Listed below are the diagnosis used for admission into Cardiac Rehabilitation:

  • Stable Angina
  • Stent Placement
  • Coronary Bypass Surgery
  • Valve Repair/Replacement
  • Heart Attack
  • Heart Failure (Not reimbursable by Medicare)

    • Insurance
    Medicare and most private payors cover Cardiac Rehabilitation. If you have questions regarding your coverage please contact your insurance carrier representative.

    Individualized Care
    Individualization of your Cardiac Rehabilitation sessions include education that is customized based on your diagnosis and recovery needs.

    Education Includes:

  • Understanding Coronary Heart Disease
  • Medications
  • Nutrition and Grocery Store Tour
  • Exercise Questions and Answers
  • Stress Management
  • Advance Directives
  • Diabetes, Questions and Answers

    • Phase 2 Monitored Exercise
    Sessions are held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Appointments are made at times that are convenient to your schedule.

    Cardiac Rehabilitation shadows your activity level at home while monitoring your heart. A variety of equipment including treadmills, bikes, armbikes, NuSteps, and free weights are used to continually assess and promote increasing your heart and skeletal muscle strength and endurance.

    Phase 3
    After completing Phase 2 Cardiac Rehabilitation, you may transfer to our Phase 3 program. This program is a "pay as you go" program, with a minimal charge. Classes meet in the mornings and afternoons on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

    Wyoming Medical Center also offers an individualized Heart Failure Program. This cardiac monitored program is a self pay program, individualized to your level of heart failure, medications, and physician recommendation. This ongoing program assists in increasing your heart muscle and skeletal strength and endurance by gradually increasing your workloads. With this increase in strength and endurance, you will be able to enjoy activities that you have been unable to participate in. Education is included with the program.

    Wyoming Medical Center's Cardiac Rehabilitation is a nationally certified program through American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
