Pharmacy to Collect Old Medications 5 March 2008
CASPER – March 5, 2008 – While you are picking up your blood results at the Blue Envelope Health Expo, get rid of your old medications. Wyoming Medical Center pharmacy, University of Wyoming pharmacy students, and Casper College pharmacy tech students w ill be collecting expired and unwanted medications at the Expo on Saturday, March 29, 2008.
Many people get rid of old medicine by throwing it in the garbage, flushing it down the toilet, or pouring it down the drain. Those methods can lead to contamination of our water supply. WMC and UW pharmacy students will collect the out-dated pharmaceuticals and safely dispose of them. All prescription and over-the-counter medicine will be accepted included, but not limited to: inhalers, ointments, and liquids. No sharps products will be accepted.
The RX Roundup will take place at Wyoming Medical Center’s booth at the Blue Envelope Health Expo held at the Casper Events Center.
