Organizational Ethics
Our Organizational Ethics policy recognizes WMC’s responsibility to its patients, employees, physicians and the community.
What are the core principles of ethical behavior expected at WMC?
We treat all patients, employees, physicians, visitors and any other third party who interacts with WMC the same – that is with fairness, dignity, respect and courtesy. We will be open and honest about our capabilities and limitations and will arrange transportation to an appropriate facility if we cannot administer service safely. We will only provide services that are necessary in a patient’s treatment and care. We follow a uniform accepted standard of care, meaning you will get the same top quality care no matter where you are in the hospital.
What will be taken into consideration when it comes to making decisions about my healthcare?
We understand your family or other loved ones want to be involved in your care and we welcome them in the process. We will involve the patient and the family, when legally authorized, as long as it is possible and practical. We will provide complete and understandable information about the risks and alternatives that may be available for their care.
Will my background or religious beliefs be taken into consideration?
Your total well-being is a key piece in the health care puzzle. We strive to meet the needs and expectations of each patient when it comes to your background, gender, heritage, and religious beliefs.
Will the quality of my care be affected if I cannot afford to pay?
Anyone that walks through the doors of Wyoming Medical Center will receive the same standard of care regardless of financial status. Admission, transfer, and discharge policies are not based on patient or hospital economics. See Charity Care Policy.
How will I know exactly what I am paying for?
Wyoming Medical Center will charge only for services and supplies actually provided to patients. Complete itemization and dates of service are available at your request. We will attempt to resolve all billing questions and objections in an open, fair and objective manner.
How do I know WMC is working in the best interest of the patient and community?
Conflicts of interest are expected to be disclosed at all levels of decision-making within the WMC organization so that appropriate safeguards may be put into place to ensure that the conflict does not inappropriately influence important decisions.
